Stowe Weekend of Hope, May 1, 2015
I will lead my nearly annual “Walk and Talk” on the Stowe Rec Path, beginning behind the church in Stowe (where you register on Friday). We’ll discuss exercise’s benefits, develop comaraderie, and share a walk outdoors in scenic Stowe. You can go at your own pace. There is usually a group for every pace, and we meet up together intermittently to talk more. It’s fun and invigorating. Make a new friend or two to start your weekend on a good note. I’ll be selling my book as well.
Rain game plan: We will switch to indoors and walk to a good video (with music) and talk about exercise and cancer recovery. See more details at www.stowehope.org
MARCH 29, 2014 Featured Speaker at Kindred Connections Annual Meeting
Williston, Vermont. Enjoyed speaking to a group of cancer survivors and health advocates about my cancer journey, my book, and research about exercise and cancer recovery. Kindred Connections has made my book available for free to over 100 cancer patients in Vermont. I was able to see old friends and new ones, and share my personal story as it has evolved. In a special moment, for me, one reader of my book prompted me to read my poem, included in the book, which she had found very meaningful on her journey.
Live music by Patrick Fitzsimmons made the day even more special.

Walk & Talk: Active Against Cancer
Walk and talk together in the fresh air on the Stowe Rec Path (adjacent to Stoweflake) for mutual support and to learn about how exercise can help you improve your cancer recovery. Enjoy breaks with simple yoga postures. Led by Nancy Brennan, Author of “Active Against Cancer”.
How Difficult Will This “Walk and Talk” Be?It’s as much a chance to “walk and talk” with survivors like yourself as it is a chance to learn more about exercise in a friendly, mobile atmosphere. It’s not about pace; it’s about attitude, enjoyment, and companionship.
